Short-form vertical video content about digital skills and computer literacy
LevUL Up is the University of Limerick’s digital skills department, focused around teaching computer skills to students. The department also runs regular workshops covering topics from the university’s own learning management system. Part of my job at the department was to create short-form videos advertising these workshops, and promoting digital skills topics in a quick, digestible format.
It doesn't have a name yet, but it's about making art
After I finished my degree (and recovered from the burnout it had induced), I got bored. To combat this, and to make sure I was still practicing and improving at stuff, I started a YouTube series! The videos are about making art, exploring creative processes (both new and familiar to me), and gradually building up a world of places and characters as my skills improve.
Surreal music video, bright flashing colours, repetitive sequences, impeccable music sync
Originally made for a university assignment in video production.
I had the idea for a music video like this almost immediately after the song came out. I took the assignment as an excuse to make it real!
Shot using the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K in the University of Limerick’s new video production lab. Edits and VFX made using Davinci Resolve and Tixl (then known as Tooll3).
a fistful of random music and an explosion of random graphics
Audiovisual set made for Buelfest, an internet music festival (or URLfest) run by a friend of mine. There are no real rules or limitations when it comes to creating something for Buelfest, but generally it’s encouraged to feature her dog, Bueller, and to make something that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I had a lot of fun with this one.
what if it was faster, and more furious?
Originally made for a university assignment in motion design. The brief was fairly simple: Choose a film, and create a totally new title sequence for it using Davinci Resolve’s Fusion compositor. I chose The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift (2001).
